Devotional Reading: Ezekiel 36:1-31
The heart and spirit are dual engines in the body of every human being who is alive, they are constantly working, gathering and processing different data and information collected. Everything a man does are products of what is stored in the heart. This is the reason why the bible instruct us in proverbs 4:23 – Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life. Every act of good and evil in man proceeds out of the heart.
The spirit is an invisible part of a man. It is the part that connect the physical to the Spiritual, it is the agent of God in man to instruct and direct us in the journey of life. It is the heart connecting to the human spirit that is born again, redeemed, restored, bewitched, afflicted etc. As our mind is trained so also can our human spirit be trained, educated, empowered and developed. When your spirit is trained and developed you will begin to understand the will of God in detail. Also it will help you to understand and walk in the statutes of God, keep his judgements and do them according to Ezekiel 36:27. When you have a new spirit, you will be able to discern and know the voice of the spirit, whether it is the Holy spirit or evil spirit.
May the Lord give you a new heart and new spirit capable of discerning especially at this end time in Jesus name.
We need to constantly ask God to renew our hearts and spirits everytime; The salvation of last year is not sufficient for the challenges of this year; The days are full of evil, it is only with a new heart and new spirit that you can jump the hurdles of life successfully.
Once God gives you a new spirit, you need to constantly feed your spirit and meditate on the word of God; God told Joshua that for you to experience true prosperity, meditation in God’s word is key. As believers we should be trained to meditate on the word of God. Prov.20:27. We should also practice the word of God according to James 1:22 “but be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only… It means to do all thus saith the LORD.
Listening to your spirit is also another way of developing your new spirit. Prov.20:27 says The spirit of a man is the candle of the Lord, searching all the inward part of the belly. Every human being has a spirit and the spirit has voice, my question is what type of spirit do you have?
May the Lord help you to connect your human spirit with the Holy Spirit and maintain a close relationship with God in Jesus name.
Prayer point: O LORD, please give me a new heart and renew my spirit today in Jesus name.
