Memorize: Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh; Matthew 25:13.
Devotional Reading: 2 Timothy 3:1-17
I recall that since i was a child, i have listened to sermons and teachings from many veteran preachers and teachers on the topic “Rapture” Most of these veterans preached with passion and some with tears, they are sounding alarm as watch men, trying to prevent men and women from going to Hell. Look round in our world today, it is not difficult to convince people that strange things are happening. Some people take it as one of those things, others connect it to the result of introducing new advance technology into our world, some school of thought believe it is a form of competition between the world super powers on who control will lead and control the world. While i am not discounting any of these school of thoughts, my question is – can we really not see the sign of the end times in all of these? One of the strongest prophecies of the second coming of our Lord and saviour Jesus Christ is been fulfiled before our eyes and in our generation, yet many people including some believers don’t feel anything. History is about to repeat itself, a regrettable thing happened during the time of Noah according to Genesis 7; with all the warnings that Noah gave the people, they mocked him, laughed him to scorn, called him names, they kept enjoying life and disregarded the opportunity to make it into the ark until they missed their golden opportunity. Similar thing also happened during the time of Lot in Sodom and Gomorah according to Genesis 19; with all the warnings, God even sent His Angel to go to the city and hold the hands of Lot, his wife and his 2 daughters, the Angel pulled them out of the city with a clear instruction that they must not look back, with all the efforts of God to save Lot and his family, Lot’s wife looked back and became pillar of salt.
The people during the time of Noah were not ready at their time, they all perished. Lot’s wife and the rest of the inhabitants of Sodom and Gomorah at their time were not ready too, they were all burnt to ashes.
This is our time, God is warning the inhabitants of the world today that His son Jesus is coming very soon, it is a privilege and opportunity for us to prepare and be ready. I ask you one more time:
Are you ready for the rapture? The focus of many believers in our world today has drifted away from preparing for rapture. Some think because it had been so long since they have been hearing about rapture, and it has not happened, then it may never happen. They have gone cold towards it. For some, they only hear messages centred around prosperity and motivational messages in their churches, their hearts have shut down towards the rapture. For some, the friends and association that they keep constantly engage them in vain and worldly talks and pursuits which have killed the hunger and expectation they once had about the rapture. However, regardless of whether you are ready or not, very soon, rapture will take place. Even unbelievers can feel it that something strange is happening in our world today.
1 Corinthians 15:51&52; Behold, i shew you a mystery; we shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
Anyone who is not ready when rapture takes place will not have second chance to be ready.
Revelation 20:15; And whosoever is not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.
Many people including some believers are currently busy chassing worldly wealth, worldly fame, worldly status, worldly recognition, worldly positions, many have chased these things at the cost of their salvation. The second coming of Jesus has become a secondary subject, some are not sure if the rapture will still take place, others have made it a 50/50 chance. The book of Mark 8:36 asks us the life saving question – For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul.
You still have time today to prepare and be ready! Today is the day of salvation, tomorrow may be too late. May God help us to be ready for the second coming of Jesus Christ. You and I will not miss Heaven in Jesus name.
Prayer point: O Lord, please help me to be ready for your second coming.
Key Dose: The Rapture is ONLY for those who are prepared and ready, Be Ready!
