Memorize: Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh; Matthew 25:13.
Devotional Reading: 2 Timothy 3:1-17
A few years ago, I came back from work and asked my son the question, are you ready? He looked at me with wonder and asked – Ready for what dad? I asked him the question because it was close to his 1st year of A-level examination, and I didn’t feel he was preparing enough. He allowed his focus to be shifted. Eventually he sat the exams and failed the essential subjects that would enable him get admission into any university, because he was not ready for the exams.
May be you too, like my son, are wondering about my question ‘Are you Ready?’, and you are thinking – ‘Ready for what?’.. Are you ready for the rapture? The focus of many believers in our world today has drifted away from preparing for rapture. Some think because it has been so long since they have been hearing about rapture, and it has not happened, then it may never happen. They have gone cold towards it. For some, they only hear messages centred around prosperity and motivational messages in their churches, their hearts have shut down towards the rapture. For some, the friends and association that they keep constantly engage them in vain and worldly talks and pursuits which have killed the hunger and expectation they once had about the rapture. However, regardless of whether you are ready or not, very soon, the rapture will take place.
1 Corinthians 15:51&52; Behold, i shew you a mystery; we shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
My son, who was not ready for his exams, had a chance to resit them the following year. This time he prepared well and was ready. He passed all the subjects with excellent grades and gained admission to one of the best Universities in the UK, he currently is in his final year and worked for a Swiss investment bank last year for his gap year. The same will not be the case with rapture. Anyone who is not ready when rapture takes place will not have second chance to be ready.
Revelation 20:15; And whosoever is not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.
Many people including some believers are currently busy chasing worldly wealth, worldly fame, worldly status, worldly recognition, worldly positions, many have chased these things at the cost of their salvation. The second coming of Jesus has become a secondary subject, some are not sure if the rapture will still take place, others have made it a 50/50 chance. The book of Mark 8:36 asks us the life saving question – For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul.
You still have time today to prepare and be ready! Today is the day of salvation, tomorrow may be too late. May God help us to be ready for the second coming of Jesus Christ. You and I will not miss it in Jesus name.
Prayer point: O Lord, help me to be ready for your second coming.
Key Dose: The Rapture is ONLY for those who are prepared and ready for it, Be Ready!
