The lion is a a special type of carnivorous animal who targets and select its prey carefully, a type of predator. Often times, he succeeds in catching the lesser animal that is not vigilant. In some of the wild life documentaries that I have been privileged to watch, I have seen in some cases when the original prey that the lion targeted to catch was missed because the animal was watchful, the animal that was eventually caught as prey was the one that lacked vigilance. In the same way today, some Christians that are not watchful, some have been caught in a web as prey, at the hand of the devil, a type of lion.
Many are caught in wrong marriages, business, relationships, friendships and association. Many are caught in wrong churches, many are caught in wrong employment; they fell victim because they were not vigilant, they spent less time in prayer and more time in vain activities. They appear very busy, but in unprofitable thing’s. St Luke admonishes us in his book – Luke 21:36; watch ye therefore, and pray always, thay ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the son. St Luke here is talking about vigilance; “watch ye therefore” – he says. It will take someone that is vigilant to be watchful, and to be effective in vigilance, you need to always pray in addition to being watchful.
Proverbs 4:23; Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life. One of the common areas that some Christians today have fallen victim due to lack of vigilance is in sexual immorality, even some once genuine servants of God have been defeated due to lack of vigilance in this area. We are at the end time, the battle is fiercer. The devil, like a roaring lion, is ferociously walking about attacking genuine believers. The devil has lost Heaven and its great glories hence trying to stop as many genuine believers as possible from making it to Heaven. You must be vigilant and pray always.
May the Lord help you to be watchful and and not fall into the trap of the enemy in Jesus name.
Prayer point: Thou great Jehovah, please help me to watch and pray in Jesus name.
