Memorize: “Blessed are ye, when men shall hate you, and when they shall separate you from their company; and shall reproach you, and cast out your name as evil, for the son of man’s sake!” Luke 6:22.
Devotional Reading: 1 Corinthians 10:23-33
Adversity for every believer is not a matter of “IF”, but “When”.
James 1:2&3; My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations. Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. God sometimes uses adversity to humble us and make us become more patient.
2 Timothy 3:12; Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.
That was certainly the case of Joseph who lived a godly life in front of his family and yet he was sold into slavery.
He lived a godly life inside Potiphar’s house and yet he was falsely accused, maligned, and imprisoned.
And Joseph even lived a godly life in prison and yet was forgotten and left there to die.
Miraculously, through all these hardships, Joseph never became angry or bitter. He trusted God’s purpose in his life and became better.
So Joseph grew in wisdom, courage, character, and endurance through the prison of his circumstances.
In fact, Psalm 105 says that God put iron into Joseph’s soul through those difficulties.
Hard times are ahead of many of us too. Some had gone through theirs while others are currently passing through their trying moment’s. We need the iron in our soul that comes from walking through adversity God’s way.
When adversity comes your way, trust God with your life.
Don’t let adversity make you bitter, but allow it to make you a better follower of Jesus Christ.
Apostle Peter gave a beautiful conclusion on adversity in 1 Peter 5:10; But the God of all grace; who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strenghteen, settle you. It is always dark before dawn. There is light at the end of your tunnel in the name of Jesus.
I pray for you today, that the God of all grace will make you perfect, stablish, strenghteen and settle you in Jesus mighty name.
I also pray that God will give you the grace to endure adversity and allow it make you a better person, count it joy and be a better person.
Prayer point; O Lord, give me the grace to endure adversity and let it make me a better person in Jesus name.
Key Dose: Adversity can be an advantage if you count it joy.
