COURAGE TO OVERCOME STORM

Devotional Reading: Daniel 3:1-25

Memory Verse: He answered and said, Lo, I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire, and they have no hurt; and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God. Daniel 3:25

Some Christians have a misconception about Christianity, they think once you are saved, you are immuned against the storms and trials of life. Christianity is not immunity against problems and challenges of life. Jesus never promised us that we will not be tried, He never told us that we will not go through storm, what He told us according to Isaiah 43:2 was – When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee: and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.

The three Hebrew children experienced peace in the midst of their storm because the Son of God was with them in the fire. They had a winning Spirit that will not bow to the threat of the enemy, coupled with the fact that they were courageous

Peter walked on water with Jesus because he had a winning Spirit, he had courage and he was able to do it until his faith began to shake.
How do we walk on the water with Jesus? How do we walk through the storm? It is by having a winning Spirit and by been courageous.

Now by storm I don’t mean a physical storm, but the, trials, difficulties, dangers and temptations that may come our way in life. Remember that God have not promised us an easy voyage, but a safe arrival.

You’re having a good day, the sun is shining, and then the phone rings, and you’re in the middle of a storm, just as it happened to me of recent with the sudden news of the passing away of a dearly beloved sister. Or you find yourself facing a collapse in your career. You get a pink slip, a dismissal. You or your close family gets a bad doctor’s report. The global pandemic is the current challenge affecting our world today, many are negatively affected, it is a type of storm in our world today.

The fact is no one is immune. As I mentioned earlier, Christianity is not immunity from problems, trials and struggles which are storms in our lives. Storms are inevitable, but with courage and having a winning Spirit, we will overcome them.

The good news is that what comes to pass doesn’t come to stay. We are able to learn how to have an unshakable, unsinkable faith in times like these. Faith works, Courage works, having a winning Spirit works if we apply them, where there is a will, there will always be a way, may the LORD make a way of breakthrough and escape for you in Jesus name.

When God is perfecting us, He actually allow trials which is a form of storm into our lives. Remember Job, he went through his trials with a winning Spirit and courage. Jesus knows when the storms hit us, they will refine and transform us to stronger believers. He uses these storms in our lives to draw us closer to Him.

He uses these winds that blow against us in our lives to perfect us and make us more resilient.

If you are going through storm, i pray for you today that God will give you a wining Spirit and Courage to go through your time of storm, i want to assure you that God have not allowed that storm to destroy you, rather, it was permitted to reveal His Glory and Greatness in your life just as He did for the three Hebrew children and for Job.. May the LORD give you the same or greater testimony today in Jesus name.

Prayer point: Father, please give me a winning Spirit and Courage in my time of storm.

Key Dose: Heaven is prepared for tried and tested Christians. Stand for your Faith and be courageous.
