Memorize: “When the LORD turned again the captivity of Zion, we were like them that dream. Then was our mouth filled with laughter; and our tongue with singing: then said they among the heathen, The LORD hath done great things for them.’” Psalm 126:1-2.
There are great and exciting moments in our lives, such as when an idea forms in our minds and we catch a vision for something that truly inspires us. When we feel galvanised by a dream that gives us focus and energy. When we feel a calling from God to do something special for His Kingdom, we jump with excitement and look forward in anticipation.
Yet, for various reasons, these dreams may not be fulfilled at the time we expected. Perhaps they have been abandoned. Perhaps delayed.
Unfulfilled dreams can be frustrating. They haunt us. Plague us. Perplex us. They constantly can linger in our thoughts.
Many people are like those Israelites who dreamed of a day when the Lord would bring back “the captive ones of Zion.” They longed for this dream to be fulfilled, but it seemed impossible. Suddenly, the LORD, turned again their captivity, they were like them that dream.
Similarly, Abraham’s dream of becoming the father of many nations was delayed for about 25 years, the waiting time must have been challenging, but he waited on God and trust his word.
Then, God performed a miracle. He “gave Abraham, the promised child – Isaac, when it humanly seemed impossible” he was no longer dreaming, but his mouth was filled with laughter and his tongue with joyful singing.”
People all around could see that God had “done great thing for Abraham” He showed that He still could intervene in the affairs of man. He could change human circumstances, and make what seemed impossible to come true. He could fulfil delayed or forgotten dreams.
Have you dreamed and it seems delayed? Or has God given you a promise and it has not come to pass? Don’t give up and don’t be discouraged, delayed is not denial, if God has said it, He will do it.
Remember that He is the same God Yesterday, today and forever. He still performs miracles and answers the prayers of those who reach out in faith.
The Bible reminds us that God does not want you to be filled with despair. Hold unto his promise with unshakable faith like Abraham did, don’t allow that dream evaporate from your memory like Joseph did, stay with that vision like Daniel, guard that idea firmly in your heart like Nehemiah, Stay faithful, and don’t give up. Remember, God can do all things, He will do yours too, in Jesus name.
I pray for you today, that God will turn around your captivity and bring to speedy manifestation, every delayed dream or promises in your life so that your mouth will be filled with laughter and your tongue with singing in the mighty name of Jesus.
Prayer point: O LORD, please turn around my captivity today and fill my mouth with laughter in Jesus name.
Key Dose: Remember that with God, delay is not denial.
