Memorize : I therefore so run, not as uncertainly; so fight I, not as one that beateth the air. 1 Corinthians: 9:26
Devotional Reading: 1 Corinthians 9:25-29
Memorize: “Unto the pure all things are pure: but unto them that are defiled and unbelieving is nothing pure; but even their mind and conscience is defiled.
Personal development is a must for everyone who desire to make it in life and become relevant. Personal development is not optional, it is compulsory and obligatory, if you wish to influence and impact others positively. God told Moses in Exodus 14:15 “and the Lord said unto Moses, wherefore cry thou unto me? Speak unto the children of Israel that they go forward. As far as God is concerned, it is time for you to go forward; enough of going around in circles. God’s instruction for you this year is to step up and make progress. You have been on the spot for too long, God says “go forward” if you refuse to go forward to develop yourself, then sudden mischief is inevitable. Deuteronomy. 2:1-3
It is too early in life for you to sit down, thinking you have arrived. The journey is still on. Many whom we met in this race are still taking giant steps, they are making progress, what are you doing sitting down in one spot. Development means a process of growth, inorder word it means consistent up-grading and also means moving towards a more advanced and organized position. Our world is constantly changing, new innovations, ingenious technological advancement are constantly evolving from time to time, nations are making progress, businesses are developing their systems to enable them compete on global stage. Individuals are not left out, a lot of people are making frantic effort to develop and build themselves so that they can fairly compete and be relevant in 21st century global order. Many people are so disorganized in their approach to life, they do not develop themselves thereby thay did not add value to themselves because they refuse to acquire new skills and neglect the need to improve on their skills. I believe it is time to organize and improve your life properly
The need for personal development and acquisition of new skills cannot be overemphasized, it is time to do it. It will help you realize your potential Without proper training it doesn’t matter how gifted and talented you might be, it will not project. Gold in its raw state doesn’t attract people, but as soon as gold is subjected to rigorous purifying process by beaten, washing and heating, the real beauty of gold will not emerge and no one will desire it. This is same for the gift and talent in you. The world we live in today is developing and growing at a fast pace, you need to grow with it. If you feel there is no need for you to develop or acquire new skills; and you feel comfortable where you are, it may be difficult for you to emerge a world star. Personal development and acquisition of new skills are for those who quest for higher positions in life that will lead to greater glory.
Another reason why you need to develop yourself and acquire new skills is: to prevent stagnation. Haven’t you heard that stagnant water stinks? Perhaps everyone was excited when you were first employed, thinking you had something to offer, but after a few months you are non-productive, what happens? They will definitely brush you aside. Development also prevent destruction. In 2 kings 7:9 some lepers refused to sit in stagnation regardless of their leprosy, they counseled themselves and move forward in order to avoid mischief, they were used by God to save a whole nation. You know the areas you need improvement take conscious effort to improve so that you can experience promotion.
May the Lord grant you the strength and determination to develop yourself this year spiritually, physically, financially, intellectually, in your carer and business, I pray that 2022 will bring you so much joy and Unlimited Favour in Jesus name.
May the LORD give you a pure heart today in Jesus name.
Prayer point: O LORD, please take me out of obscurity, let me shine in Jesus name.
Key Dose: It is often said that practice makes perfect, develop yourself and build new skills.
