Devotional Reading: psalms 57:1-11
Love is a question of the heart. The extent of your love for God will show in how you relate with Him. I ask you “Do you love God?” I dont want you to rush in your answer, take few minutes and think it through if you truly love Him. You will know if you do or if you don’t, some people may not be sure.
One thing certain, is that God loves you. He showed it clearly and broadly by giving us His ONLY son – Read John 3:16. He also showed His great love for us when we least deserved it – Read Romans 5:8. Love is life, so God gave us life, we should be kind to love Him too.
Peradventure you don’t know if you truly love God, then you are being unfair and unkind to a truly loving God, compassionate, merciful, kind, full of goodness, He cares for you, I cannot fully describe the love of God, it is beyond description. The question is – why would anyone not love such a good God?
David loved God, they sing praises of each other. Psalms 89:1 “I will sing of the mercies of the Lord for ever, with my mouth will I make known thy faithfulness to all generations.They constantly exchange gifts. Psalms 115:12-14 David said “God has given me so much, what am I to give Him in return. They hold regular discussions. 1 Thess.5:17. Prayer becomes hard if it is not done in love.
They defend each other Psalms 27:1-6. They trust each other and find it easy to forgive one another. Psalms 105:1-5. They pay themselves regular visits. Psalms 16:11. Sooner or later they will end up dwelling together in eternity for ever: John 14:1-3
God wants you to love him as He loves you, If you love God, you will do His commandments, you will obey Him and worship Him with all your heart. All of these are not possible outside love. Therefore, I encourage you to develop a strong appetite for God today and as you do He will fill you with His love, He will also come through for you.
May the LORD help you love him today in Jesus name.
Prayer point: My Father, my father, please help me love you more and more in Jesus name.
