Devotional Reading: Zechariah 7:1-12
Stones are substance that is difficult to break with mere hand or teeth except with some mechanical force. Now imagine the heart of someone hardening as such stone in life, it closes door against the effectiveness of prophecy and manifestation of God’s word, it prevents God’s power from working, it is a major stumbling block to success and breakthrough in any life. As you start the journey of a new month, pray that God will give you a broken heart and contrite spirit. There are people who have hardened their hearts and turned their hearts to stone, these stones in their lives will make them insensitive to the Holy Spirit, thereby they exhibit: strife, covetousness, envy, doubt, fear, pride, lust, and many more. Prophet Zechariah went through a lot in the hand of the people, because their heart was adamant that repels against the fulfillment of prophecy. The Bible encourages us to do away with such stony heart which prevents the manifestations of God’s power in our lives. We must not hardened our hearts.
If you, as an individual, will accept the responsibility and cast out the stones in your life, you will become a changed person and your life will undergo a spiritual transformation worthy of emulation.
In case the stone you have been battling with is hatred, cast it out. Remember that Joseph had every legitimate reason to hate his brothers, who had deliberately sold him to slavery and wished him dead, but records bear witness that instead of hatred, he showed them love. You too may have been hurt, used, abused, jilted or molested by someone, which has led you to hate the person, possess a forgiving heart, put them away and let God compensate you himself in his own way, otherwise, it will become a stone in your heart, it will not allow you to move forward or fulfill your destiny, this is what the devil want, don’t give him the chance.
I once heard testimony of a Christian woman who was said to be barren. She was booked for a surgery in a Christian hospital in Nigeria, and the spirit of God ministered to the doctor just before the surgery that the woman needed no physical operation, but a spiritual one. She needed to do away with the hatred she had towards her brother-in-law. The woman confirmed that she hated him to the extent that each time he drank water in their home, she would not wish him well, after she was counseled, she went home, restitute and made things right with him. Miraculously, she did not need to undergo the surgery, and God blessed her with children. Hatred is a deadly disease, give it no place in your life.
Whatever in your life that represent stone, I pray that the power of God will remove it at once in Jesus name.
Prayer point: Jehovah, please remove any stony heart from my life in Jesus name.
