Memorize: Provideth her meat in the summer, and gathereth her food in the harvest Prov. 6:8
Devotional Reading: Prov. 6:1-8
Provideth her meat in the summer, gathereth her food in the harvest” Prov.6:8. There are many lessons to learn from the ants, one of the lessons is that they know how to prepare for their desired harvest. Harvest do not just come: they are planned for. Before the sky breaks forth as rain, you must first load it. Ecclesiastes 11:3 says, if the cloud be full of rain, they empty themselves upon the earth: and if the tree fall towards the south, or towards to north, in the place where the tree falleth, there it shall be”. The clouds cannot deliver the rain they have not conceived or stored.
Many times, believers expect the downpour of blessing without necessarily working towards it. It doesn’t work like that. If you fail to load your clouds, you will hinder your harvest and continue to be in dryness. Famine is guaranteed for the one who fails to sow for the rainy day. Some people around us are just spending their last reserves of God’s blessing. After exhausted, they will go through lack, Want, and financial dryness because they failed to prepare for the future, that will not be your portion in Jesus name.
Are you preparing for your harvest? What plans do you have for yourself and family in 5, 20, 30 years from now? To be like the ants, you must take decisive steps concerning your future. Not every blessing God gives to you is meant to be spent now, plan for the future. Some believers have no bank account, they hardly save anything from their income. Usually, the excuse is that they earn far too little to save. That is not true. Every provision comes with a seed and a fruit. Never eat seed with the fruit. Sow the seed to guarantee a future harvest in every blessing God gives to you. Your future depends on how you treat your seeds today. If you eat them up, you may starve and beg tomorrow because you have hindered your harvest. I pray for you in the mighty name of Jesus that you will not beg.
If you invest wisely, your harvest will be awaiting you. You can sow seeds into the gospel, invest in landed property or buildings you can hardly go wrong with brick and mortar, carefully monitor market activities and grow your portfolios. Reduce your expenses and cost of living and stabilize things even when your income increases: channel the remainder into more meaningful investments. Cultivate an investment sense and mindset. Do not wait until you have millions, start from the little you have, over a period of time, you will enter your harvest. Some of us have done this and it has worked.
I pray for you that you will not hinder your harvest in the name of Jesus.
Prayer point: O God of harvest, please help me not to hinder my harvest in Jesus name.
Key Dose: Always remember that you can prepare for a good harvest by investing today.
