Devotional Reading: Gen. 26:1-13
Establishment is the act of establishing something that is in operation. Nothing gets established without a force or authority backing it up. That force or authority is the the Grace of God. For instance you desire to establish a finance company, but you can’t just wake up one morning and say my company is so and so and claim it is established and we have license to operate, when it is not true. First people will question your establishment, they will want to know your registration or authorization number, if it cannot be verified, then your business is not established.
This instance is applicable in the things of God. For you to be highly successful in whatsoever you are doing, first you need that project to be in operation and you need the grace of God to divinely establish you, else your efforts might not yield expected results. I have come to realise that when God establish someone or a project, even if that person is in a strange land like Isaac, God will prosper such person and make his name very great, why? Because God through his grace has established him. In Gen. 17:1-7 God said to Abram “I will make thee exceeding fruitful… and God did it. Zechariah 4:6; Then he answered and said unto me, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit saith the LORD of hosts.
From our devotional reading, we saw that Isaac prospered so much that the Philistines envied him. Remember it was during time of famine yet Isaac was waxing greater and greater. Isaac was able to accomplish such achievements because God divinely established him. God gave him instruction not to leave the land. A lesson from there is that dont leave a place when God have not told you to leave, wait for God’s instructions before making a move, if you follow God’s leading, you can be assured that even in time of famine, He will rescue you and make a way for you.
For us as a church the promise of God for us in this season is that He will help us to take over and be established. God will establish you in whatsoever you are doing and make your ways prosperous as long as you are doing those things according to His will for you, what is required of you is – follow his leading and instruction. My question for you is “will you allow God to lead you”? Many people struggle with God when it comes to making decisions, they like to lead the way themselves, but you must allow God to lead and decide for you.
I pray for you today that God will help you to be patient, and to accept His leading, allow His grace help you and establish you.
The LORD will establish the good works of your hands in Jesus name.
Prayer point:: Thou creator of the Universe, please establish the good works of my hands today in Jesus name.
