Memorize: In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace. Ephesians 1:7
Devotional Reading: Romans 5:6-11
The theme of this month for us as a church is our month of Supernatural Breakthrough. Jesus gave his life as a ransom to redeem us, he provided supernatural breakthrough for us by shedding his blood for us on the cross of Calvary, he paid it all on that cross. I am grateful unto God for this great plan of Redemption, and providing a way of deliverance and victory for us.
Redemption is the act of redeeming or atoning for a fault or mistake. Other definitions include repurchasing something or making a deliverance or rescue. Or the idea of making something or someone better or more acceptable. Under the umbrella of this word, we could also include the exchanging of something by using something else of value.
The redemption that Jesus brought is more detailed and momentous than those definitions. From our memory verse in Ephesians 1: 7 it says in Him we have redemption (deliverance, freedom and salvation) through His blood, the remission (forgiveness) of our offenses (shortcomings and trespasses), in accordance with the riches and the generosity of His gracious favor. The redemption that Christ gave to us is a complete and perfect one. Not partial or installmental, it was a total redemption, Jesus gave his life, paid the price that we may have abundant life.
We are guilty of death as punishment for our sins, because the penalty of sin is death Romans 6:23 “for the wages of sin is death” but God still loves us he gave us everlasting life. In John 3:16 bible says “for God so love the world that He gave His only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life”. The death bible is referring to here is not physical death but spiritual death which can lead to physical death. We can see this in the account of Adam and Eve. God’s intention was for us to live with him forever but when sin came, it reduced human life span and we saw how it degenerated from Adam who died at 930 years and Abraham who died at 136. Anytime we commit sin our chances of becoming great and better is reduced and we risk losing our reward. I pray we will not lose our rewards in Jesus name Amen.
Also Our redemption package includes riches, in 2 Corinthians 8:9 bible says “For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich.” Jesus has redeemed you and I from the chain of poverty which we inherited from sin. he took away our poverty and gave us wealth. He also took away our sickness and diseases and gave us wholeness and sound health. Isaiah 53:4-5
I like you know that Jesus didn’t do all these things without aim and objective which is so that we can live a fulfilled life and reign with him eternally in heaven. Therefore, embrace it and walk in the liberty that Christ brought for you through his plan of Redemption.
May the plan of redemption and power of ressurectition work for you and your household in the mighty name of Jesus.
Prayer point: O thou great Redeemer, help me walk in the liberty and freedom through your redemption POWER in Jesus name.
Key Dose: Embrace God’s plan of redemption, enjoy victory and hope of eternal life. He has paid the price.
