HIS SOVEREIGN POWER

Memorize : Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure. Isaiah 46:10.

Devotional Reading: 2 Chronicles 20:1-25

Some people doubt God’s sovereignty, they use the philosophy and psychology of men to support their arguments, some use science while others simply claim the universe is too big for any one individual to claim ownership, they believe in the Bing Bang theory. Whatever argument anyone may have, it does not change who God is, He is “Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and the End” Psalm 115:3: says “But our God is in the heavens: he hath done whatever he hath pleased”

Our God does whatever he hath pleased, He is unquestionable.
Psalm 47:8; “God reigneth over the heathen: God sitteth upon the throne of his holiness”

At times, the world can seem like a yo-yo – constantly going up and then down. We try to make sense of everything, which can sometimes be a helpless experience.

Think about events of the past few years. Unanticipated problems emerged that didn’t seem to have solutions. Trends developed, but then reversed, even the seasons are falling out of time, our climate is changing, the level of uncertainty in our world has become unprecedented.

Heroes have emerged and fallen. People have embraced politicians and parties, then, when disappointed, tried something else. We wonder what tomorrow will bring and what else may happen. In the midst of all these changing issues of life, our God remains sovereign and unchanging.

The world continuously fluctuates, but God never changes, He remains the same and sovereign over all. Politicians may fight over control, but “God reigns over the nations.” Regardless of how things appear today, He remains the ONLY wise God.

Through every change, God isn’t worried or caught up in emotional trauma. He simply sits “on His holy throne,” ruling, completing His plans. He was there yesterday. He is there today. He will be there tomorrow – Hebrews 13:8.

No matter what takes place in the world, He remains on His sovereign throne.
If we focus on world events, our hearts can be subject to an emotional roller coaster – up one moment, down the next. We’ll never be sure how we will feel the next morning. We’ll be constantly uncertain. The answer is – Trust in God.

Many people are going through challenges of life, for some, those challenges can be life changing, remember that there is a sovereign God who is an unchanging changer, He will change those situations in your life and bring you victoriously to a place of testimony in Jesus name.

All you need do, is to make sure that you trust Him, believe in Him, don’t allow your faith to be weakened, don’t allow your confidence in God to diminish; Kings may come but also go. Trends may emerge and recede. The news may be good or bad. But through every circumstance, God remains on His throne, He has promised you victory, He will not fail you, He does not change. Numbers 23:19; “God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?

I wish to encourage you to believe in Him today and throughout your life, He is dependable and reliable, you can trust in Him absolutely in any situation all through your lifetime, you will not be disappointed. May the LORD give you the grace to trust a sovereign, dependable and reliable God, all the days of your life in Jesus name.

Prayer point: O LORD, please teach me how to be still in your presence in Jesus name.

Key Dose: There is none Holy as our God, there is none beside Him.
