Memory Verse: Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love, in honour preferring one another. Romans 12:10
Devotional Reading: Romans 12:1-10
There are times in our lives that we don’t need to struggle to make some remarkable achievements, not because we did it with any spectacular talent, but because of a good and positive attitude that has been sown. There is a place of wealth and a place of good attitude, if your attitude is bad success will be difficult to achieve. John C. Maxwell said Talent is not enough you need good attitude.
Humility is a good attitude, it is an evidence that a man is willing to respond to correction. Humility doesn’t mean stupidity, it means to make no high of yourself regardless of your status. It also means to respect those placed as leaders regardless of their age. Humility is recognizing the worth of others. Jesus was exalted because He humbled himself. Matthew 23:12
And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be abased; and he that shall humble himself shall be exalted.
Another attitude we must develop and use is Patience. The ability to endure present state, ability to see the advantage of the present circumstances. Patience will make you see positive in a bad situation. “The Lord is good unto them that wait for him” Lamentation 3:25. Many people have changed jobs because of pressure from either their co workers or board members, only to find they face the same problem elsewhere. Romans 8:18 For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which will be revealed in us.
If anyone desire to command success asides being an obedient Christian and reading the bible, you must develop a good attitude towards others. The person you disrespect when going up is the person you might meet when coming down. Let us learn not to burn bridges behind us after crossing with it, you may need it to cross back, let’s love one another. Love is the fulfilment of the law.
May the Lord help you to be mindful of your attitudes. Ensure you develop attitude and character that commands success and can stand the test of time.
Prayer point: O LORD, give me positive attitude today in Jesus name.
Key Dose: A good name is better than silver and gold, ‘that good name is your attitude, keep it.
