LIVE TO PLEASE GOD

Memory Verse: For Moses has said, consecrate yourselves to day to the Lord, even every man upon his son, and upon his brother; that he may bestow upon you a blessing this day. Exodus 32: 29

Devotional Reading: Judges 13:3-7

Consecration is required from anyone that want to live to please God. It is a process or practice of making something or someone sacred, dedicated and set apart for the LORD. It also means the devoting or setting apart of anything or anyone to the worship or service of God. According to Numbers 3:12 and Exodus 28:41 the race of Abraham and the tribe of Levi were thus consecrated and according to the Mosaic law, the first-born both of man and beast were consecrated to God.

When we say that someone is consecrated, it means the person has been called to live a life of purity, free from sin and contamination at all standard. God has called everyone of us including our children to be consecrated, to be wholly given to God and be willing to purge ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit so that our lives can please Him.

I understand that we are currently living in a world which is gradually tearing apart but as children of God we must uphold the lifestyle of purity and holiness. This is made possible through absolute compliance to divine instructions given by God in His word. John 17:17 says Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth. Also Psalms 119:9 and Ephesians 5:26. We are in the time where you and I need not be hiding our identity as believers. We must remain who we are anywhere go, our lives must bring glory to God.

God can only be close to you if you do according to His instruction and one of His instruction is Consecration. Not only in dressing, but in all areas of our lives. Words, the music we listen to, the videos we watch, etc that doesn’t bring glory to God should not be found around us. If you are a believer and you have a wine shelf with alcoholic drinks in your house, you are not consecrated. If you are a believer and you find company of opposite sex comfortable than your spouse you are not consecrated. If you are student and you engage in examination malpractices you are not consecrated. God doesnt take such life style funny and that is why I am encouraging you to give yourself to God in consecration. Remember that we are created for the pleasure of God, we can only achieve that if only we live to please him.

I pray that God will give you and I the grace to be more consecrated in all our dealings for his glory so that our lives can be pleasing to God. You will not miss it in Jesus name

Prayer: O LORD, help me live to please you.

Key Dose: A life that is consecrated to God is a life pleasing to Him.
