Memorize: ‘When the LORD turned again the captivity of Zion, we were like them that dream. Then was our mouth filled with laughter; and our tongue with singing: then said they among the heathen, The LORD hath done great things for them.’
Devotional Reading: Psalm 126:1-2
Yesterday, we looked at benefits of God’s grace, i listed 4 benefits; although the benefits are practically inexhaustible, they are too numerous to list, however, today, we will conclude by looking at the grace of God that makes us experience “Miracle like a dream”
There is beautiful hymn that says all good gifts around us are sent from Heaven above, then thank the LORD, oh thank the LORD, for all his love. This Hymn is to remind us that we receive all the good gifts of life from God in Heaven by grace.
Part of the work of grace is to illuminate our minds with great and visionary ideas which brings us exciting moments that truly inspires us. When we feel galvanised by a dream that gives us focus and energy. When we feel a calling from God to do something special for His Kingdom, we jump with excitement and look forward in anticipation.
Yet, for various reasons, these dreams may not be fulfilled at the time we expected. Perhaps they have been abandoned. Perhaps delayed.
Unfulfilled dreams can be frustrating. They haunt us. Plague us. Perplex us. They constantly can linger in our thoughts. We sometimes feel like a pregnant woman who is over due to give birth, it can be very discomforting.
Many people are like those Israelites who dreamed of a day when the Lord would bring back “the captive ones of Zion.” They longed for this dream to be fulfilled, but it seemed impossible; it takes the grace of God to make it happen. Suddenly, the LORD, turned again their captivity by the power of His grace, and they were like them that dream. We must realise that if our breakthroughs or miracles are delayed, it does not mean we are denied, what it sometimes means is that God is testing our patience or in the process of working out our breakthrough, in such a situation, we need to have faith and trust the grace of God to perform it.
Abraham’s dream of becoming the father of many nations was delayed for about 25 years, the waiting time must have been challenging, but he waited on God and trust in his word.
Then, God by His grace performed a miracle. He “gave Abraham, the promised child – Isaac, when it humanly seemed impossible” he was no longer dreaming, but his mouth was filled with laughter and his tongue with joyful singing.”
People all around could see that God had “done great thing for Abraham” He showed that He still could intervene in the affairs of man. He could change human circumstances, and make what seemed impossible to come true by His grace. He could fulfill delayed or forgotten dream as part of the work of His grace.
Have you dreamed and it seems delayed? Or has God given you a promise and it has not come to pass? Don’t give up and don’t be discouraged, delayed is not denial, have faith in God and trust Him, if God has said it, He will do it.
Remember that He is the same God Yesterday, today and forever. He still performs miracles and answers the prayers of those who reach out in faith.
The Bible reminds us that God does not want you to be filled with despair. Hold unto his promise with unshakable faith like Abraham did, don’t allow that dream evaporate from your memory like Joseph did, stay with that vision like Daniel, guard that idea firmly in your heart like Nehemiah, Stay faithful, and don’t give up. Remember, God can do all things for those who believe, He will do yours too, in Jesus name.
I pray for you today, that God will turn around your captivity and give you an experience of miracle like a dream; God will bring to speedy manifestation, every delayed dream or promises in your life so that your mouth will be filled with laughter and your tongue with singing in the mighty name of Jesus.
Prayers point : O LORD, please turn around my captivity today and give me an experience of miracle like a dream in Jesus name.
Key Dose: Remember that with God, all things are possible, delay is not denial, hold unto God for your miracle.
