Memorize: There be four things which are little upon the earth, but are exceeding wise. Proverbs 30:24
The book of Proverbs chapter 30 verses 25 – 28 is a portion of Scripture with intriguing descriptions of four things which are little upon the earth, but they are exceeding wise, these 4 things are: “The Ants” “The Conies” “The Locusts” “The Spider” Looking at each of them and how they operate with wisdom without giving excuses, it is amazing, every human is expected to perform far greater and better.
We are naturally conscious of our limitations and often feel we can’t do it because of resources we don’t have or abilities that seem limited. We can easily find ourselves hiding behind these limits, making excuses.
The Bible uses illustrations from nature to show how we can overcome what seem to be disadvantages.
If we feel weak and overwhelmed, we need to consider ants according to verse 25 of our Scripture passage. They don’t give up but seek to be efficient with the opportunities they have, they prepare their meat in the summer, some of us waste the season of our lives when we are meant to work in the summer and prepare for the rainy day.
Like Conies, we could point to a lack of resources. Although these creatures “aren’t powerful,” they are feeble but they don’t complain (verse 26). Instead, they are resourceful, they make their houses in the rocks; some of us human, we back off, when faced with challenges, the first statement you will hear is “No, I can’t do it, because it is too hard”, mere excuses, the Conies are more feeble than human, yet they build their houses in hard surfaced areas.
Like locusts, we may not have a clear sense of direction, or competent leader to direct us, it was the same with the Locusts instead of feeling paralysed because they have no king, they work together, accomplishing great things through teamwork. Some of us human will give excuses that they have no one to teach them. In this modern age of advanced technology, anyone can learn anything they need to know online, we are a generation that cannot give tenable excuses, if there will be any reason why many cannot achieve and make progress in life, it is due to laziness.
Let us look at Spiders.
Like Spiders, we can feel too small to make a difference. But these creatures use their size to their advantage. Rather than giving in to fear and frustration, they act with ingenuity and creativity, you will find them building their creative webs even in kings Palaces, a place where many intellectually sound and wealthy humans cannot have easy access.
You may face obstacles that seem impossible to overcome. You may not have the resources you need. Defeat may seem inevitable. But the Bible urges you to learn from these small creatures which are little upon the earth, but they are exceeding wise, if they can make such huge achievements as little things as they are without giving excuses, then you should rise up and get on with what you have to do legitimately to make your life a huge success, enough of excuses.
In this year 2022, you need to spend time with God in prayer and meditation with adequate planning, ask God to help you plan your life differently; if you need to join an effective network of competent professionals, ask the Holy Spirit to lead you to the right network of people and work with them. Be inventive and creative this new year, find ways to effectively use the resources you have.
Don’t accept defeat or discouragement. Allow God to use the time, talents, and treasures He has given you to bring you victory and glorious triumph. Be determined to make this year 2022 a year with massive difference in many good ways, don’t allow the mistakes of previous years to repeat itself in your life this year, No More Excuses, “Just Do It” May the LORD help you make huge positive difference this year in Jesus name.
