Devotional Reading: 1 Corinthians 10:23-33
“Blessed are ye, when men shall hate you, and when they shall separate you from their company; and shall reproach you, and cast out your name as evil, for the son of man’s sake!” Luke 6:22.
Trials or storm for every believer is not a matter of “IF”, but “When”.
James 1:2&3; My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations. Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. God sometimes uses adversity to humble us and make us become more patient.
2 Timothy 3:12; Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.
That was certainly the case of Joseph who lived a godly life in front of his family and yet he was sold into slavery.
He lived a godly life inside Potiphar’s house and yet he was falsely accused, maligned, and imprisoned.
And Joseph even lived a godly life in prison and yet was forgotten and left there to die.
Miraculously, through all these hardships, Joseph never became angry or bitter. He was patient, he trusted God’s purpose in his life, God came through for him and he became better.
So Joseph grew in wisdom, courage, character, and endurance through the prison of his circumstances.
In fact, Psalm 105 says that God put iron into Joseph’s soul through those difficulties. He made up his mind that he will not sin against God.
Hard times are ahead of many of us too. Some had gone through theirs while others are currently passing through their trying moment’s. We need the iron in our soul that comes from walking through trials, temptations and hard tests, i pray that God will give you amazing victory in all the challenges of life confronting you in Jesus name.
When trials come your way, trust God with your life.
Don’t let trial make you bitter, but allow it to make you a better follower of Jesus Christ. Be determined like Joseph and like Job that you too will not sin against God.
Apostle Peter gave a beautiful conclusion on trials in 1 Peter 5:10; But the God of all grace; who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strenghteen, settle you. It is always dark before dawn. There is light at the end of your tunnel, there is joy coming for you in the morning in the name of Jesus.
I pray for you today in our month of “From Grace to Grace” that the God of all grace will make you perfect, stablish, strenghteen and settle you in every area challenging you in life in Jesus mighty name.
I also pray that God will give you the grace to endure trials and allow them make you a better follower of Christ and stronger believer in Jesus name.
Prayer point; O Lord, give me the grace to endure trials and let them make me a better person Christ Jesus, Amen.
Key Dose: Trials can be an advantage if you count it all joy.
