PEACE IN TIME OF STORM

Memory Verse: He answered and said, Lo, I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire, and they have no hurt; and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God. Daniel 3:25

Devotional Reading: Daniel 3:1-25

Some Christians have a misconception about Christianity, they think once you are saved, you are immuned against the storms and trials of life. Christianity is not immunity against problems and challenges of life. Jesus never promised us that we will not be tried, He never told us that we will not go through storm, what He told us according to Isaiah 43:2 was – When thou passest through the waters, i will be with thee: and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.

The three Hebrew children experienced peace in the midst of their storm because the Son of God was with them in the fire.

Peter walked on water with Jesus until his faith began to shake.
How do we walk on the water with Jesus? How do we walk through the storm? Storms will come in life.

Now by storm I don’t mean a physical storm, but the difficulty and danger and disasters that may come our way.

You’re having a good day, the sun is shining, and then the phone rings, and you’re in the middle of a storm, just as it happened to me of recent with the sudden news of the passing away of a dearly beloved sister. Or you find yourself facing a collapse in your career. You get a pink slip, a dismissal. You or your close family gets a bad doctor’s report. Brexit is the current national challenge in the UK affecting our economy, many are negatively affected, it is a type of storm for some people.

The fact is no one is immune. As i mentioned earlier, Christianity is not immunity from problems and trials and struggles and storms in our lives. Storms are inevitable.

The good news is that what comes to pass doesn’t come to stay. We are able to learn how to have an unshakable, unsinkable faith in times like these. Faith works if we apply it correctly.

When God is perfecting us, He actually allows the storms or sends the storm into our lives. Jesus knows when the storms hit us, and He uses these storms in our lives…turbulent times in our lives to maybe turn our lives upside down so that we can grow closer to Him.

He uses these winds that blow against us in our lives as a way to drive us closer to Him.

If you are going through storm, i pray for you today that God will give you peace in your time of storm, i want to assure you that God have not allowed the storm to destroy you, rather, it was permitted to bring His Glory and Greatness in your life just as He did for the three Hebrew children. May the LORD give you the same or greater testimony today in Jesus name.

Prayer point: Father, please uphold me and give me peace in my time of storm.

Key Dose: Heaven is prepared for tried and tested Christians. Stand for your Faith.
