SIN NO MORE

Memorize: So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many, and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation. Hebrews 9:28

Devotional Reading: Hebrews 9:11 – 28

From the time our foreparents Adam & Eve fell in the garden of Eden, no one is infallible. We all do things we should not do. Some of these sins are big. Some are small. Some are widely known; some are known only to ourselves and God.

Some commit sin through words, actions, or thoughts. Whichever type of sin it is, in God’s sight, sin is sin. And sin in any form pollutes our hearts and minds, and separates us from God, if unrepented, carries the penalty of death. Ezekiel 18:20a; “The soul that sinneth, it shall die”. This is why the Law provides a way for His people to be freed from the bondage of sin.

Say unto them, As i live, saith the Lord GOD, i have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live. Ezekiel 33:11

The first step toward freedom is acknowledging our sin.
We cannot be free as long as we refuse to acknowledge what we have done wrong.

As the New Testament emphasises, “If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.”

And we need to do is make confession: “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness” 1 John 1:9

After confession, we must genuinely repent of those sins and ask for forgiveness. Genuine repentance leads to forgiveness. Acts 3:19a; Repent therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out.

Then call upon the name of the Lord and you shall be saved – Romans 10:13
These principles still apply. If you want to be saved and be free from the bondage of sin and become pure in God’s sight, you must confess your sins and forsake them.

Accept God’s forgiveness and make your life a living sacrifice, Romans 12:1. Committing everything to Him and accept Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and saviour.

I pray that God’s hand of mercy will be stretched towards you in this season and by grace you will become free from every bondage of sin in Jesus name.

Prayer Point: O Lord, let your mercy speak for me and by your grace, release me from every bondage of sin.

Key Dose: God is willing to forgive your sins, only if you are ready to accept his forgiveness
