Memorize : I am the almighty God, walk before me and be thou perfect. Genesis.17:1b
Devotional Reading: 1 Chronicles 12:1-10
It is the desire of God that we go higher and be more like Him. God commands change, without a changed life, our service to God will be ineffective, it will be like a circling motion, in which no ground is covered and there is no fulfilment. There are so many reasons why we need to step up, in Isaiah. 43:19 the bible says “Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert” this is to tell us that God is doing new things and they are not for weaklings and lazy people, they are for those that know their God.
Daniel 11:32b; But the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits.
No matter how good our past has been our future can be greater and this is the plan of God for us. We have the capacity for greater things, it is inside of us, we must desire to do greater works, we can’t afford to be behind when others are ahead doing great exploits for Jesus.
Stepping up could mean to increase quality time spent with God in personal meditation and prayer, studying the word, increasing our fervent service to God and more. Stepping up can also mean to be resolute in our worship and thanksgiving, having a heart of gratitude. God is calling us to a higher calling, His desires are that we win the world for Him, save, heal and deliever them. But if we don’t step up, we might find it difficult to do. We need to see ourselves as the instruments that God will use to reach the whole earth.
I like us to know that there are still mysteries yet unfolded and God wants to unveil them through us, but not to those who are not seeking Him. Proverbs.25:2 says “it is the glory of God to conceal a matter, to search out a matter is the glory of kings” we will be failing in our responsibility as Kings if we don’t search out in the secret places the deep things that God has hidden.
1 Corinthians. 2:9 “Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him”. God has a lot in stock for us, great rewards awaits us both here on earth and in eternity, but He needs us to show commitment to His works and be faithful. I pray that God’s grace to step up will rest upon us in Jesus name.
Prayer point: Father, help me step up in all areas and ramifications in Jesus name.
Key Does: God will never give you more than you can handle, stretch yourself!
