Devotional Reading: Matthew 24: 1 – 35
God honour and magnify his word above his name according to our memorize in Psalm 138:2; the word of God is abides forever; it cannot fail or falter.The Bible says “Heaven & Earth will pass away, but the word of God cannot pass away, it will stand sure forever. The greatest asset of God is “His word”, that was why He placed His highest honour on it. the whole of divinity and creation hold on God’s word. Paul in one of his addresses to the Corinthians – 1 Corinthians 15:14: And if Christ be not risen then our preaching vain, and your faith is also vain. Paul here was endorsing the honour of God’s word about the resurrection of Jesus Christ, he was saying in other words that if the word of God is not true, then the preaching and sufferings of the Apostles and those that were martyred among them are all in vain, also the faith of every believer that ever lived is also in vain, this is very big.
Thank God for His word which is true, dependable and has integrity, allow it to minister to your situations, it is sufficient to meet all your needs. Solutions to all life situations are in the word of God.
Some people believe in the word of their GP ‘doctor’ more than the word of God, some believe in the threatening word of their enemy more than the word of God, some people due to the intense nature of their difficulty, they turn to a fetish priest like “king Saul who visited the witch of Endor” they believe the word of man more than the word of God, when all Ultimate, Sovereign and Supreme power belong to our God as contained in His word.
Put your trust in God and cast your confidence in His word. When we rely upon the written word of God, we will experience the trustworthiness for ourselves, it is something we grow to love. Since God’s word is very pure, we certainly can delight in it. It is honourable, we can count on it in any situation, giving us the confidence we need.
Whatever you are going through, don’t allow fear to have dominion over you, look in God’s word and believe, it has solution to every situation, only truth and honesty come from our God and His word, it is impossible for Him to lie. God has such great integrity, so does His word. It is truth, it is pure, it is spiritually perfect. God’s word has unsurpassed honour, and we can fully depend on it in all categories of life! Even if everything else is taken from you, cling to your Bible which is the word of God, it works.
May the LORD help you depend on His word in Jesus name.
Prayer point: O LORD, help me depend on your word in Jesus name.
