Memorize: “I beheld till the thrones were cast down, and the Ancient of days did sit, whose garment was white as snow, and the hair of his head like the pure wool: his throne was like the fiery flame, and his wheels as burning fire.” Daniel 7:9.
Devotional Reading: Daniel 7:1-14
There are many philosophical arguments about who God is, different untrue theories and wrong indoctrination have been forced into the minds of many people about God, some even claim there is no God. However, in the midst of this, there are those who have the knowledge of God, though they have not seen him, yet they believe that He is and that he is a rewarder of those that diligently seek him. I ask you today, do you know God? Who is He to you, and do you have a relationship with Him? As we step into the 2nd day in this new month of September, it is important that you have a personal knowledge and relationship with God, not just knowing Him from the bible or a pastor’s description, you should know God from a personal conviction.
One of the most striking descriptions of God is – “The Ancient of Days”
The title, “Ancient of Days,” reminds us that God is beyond time. He never is worried or caught up in the world’s troubles. He never panics or makes rash decisions, He knows the end from the beginning and He has got everything planned.
He is the Perfect Judge, pure and holy, always objective. He always brings an eternal perspective to everything He does.
Daniel saw His throne “ablaze with flames” and “a river of fire was flowing and coming out from before Him.” This was a place of absolute purity where sin cannot be tolerated. And the throne was surrounded by throngs of people.
As they stood before Him, “the books were opened.” These books were the history of what these men and women had done with their lives.
Not just some things, but everything, because there is nothing hidden from God, He is all knowing.
Jesus is coming very soon, He will present the whole world before his father for judgement, there will be no mercy, He will judge in righteousness.
Jehovah is to be worshiped and praised! He is the Ancient of Days. Completely objective. Beyond time. He have the records of all your deeds.
I encourage you today to humble yourself and seek Him. Ask Him to take away any sin in your life and make you pure and Holy.
Commit yourself without reservation to serve Him and make Him your priority. Don’t hold back. Fill your life with His Word and His love. Surrender to His Spirit.
Believe Him to use you as a vessel of honour for His glory. The light of God will shine through you in Jesus name.
I pray for you today that you will be ready on judgement day without sin, and that your name will be found in the book of life in the name of Jesus.
Prayers point : Ancient of Days, uphold me to the end and help me finish well in Jesus name.
Key Dose: The almighty God is all able, and all knowing, there is absolutely nothing impossible for Him to do.
