Memorize : “They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate Titus:1:16.

Devotional Reading: Titus 1:1-16

Memorize: “Unto the pure all things are pure: but unto them that are defiled and unbelieving is nothing pure; but even their mind and conscience is defiled.

The beauty of Christianity and Godliness is in living a practical life that mirror our confession. The profession of our faith is not enough without practical evidence through our actions and beliefs. Writing to Titus, Paul used a word indicating that some people simply repeat what others say. They are echoes, going along with the crowd.

But their lives tell a different story. They may profess to know God but actually “deny” Him by what they say and do. I heard some immoral preachers make joke with a spiritually unethical statement saying, “Do what I say, don’t do what I do”, in reality, you will see some of these imoral preachers actually demonstrate the statement with their actions. This is wrong, every believer is an ambassador of Christ here on earth, we are the book that the world reads, we are the mirror of Christ, the people of the world should look at us and see the image of Christ in us.

A large percentage of Christians say they believe in God. More than half attend church every week or month. But how many really put His teachings into practice? How many really believe the Bible is the true word of God?

Ultimately, we all need to think about these questions, and answer for ourselves. Do we really know God or just know about Him? Are we sure about our relationship with Jesus? Or are we merely echoing what other people want us to say? Are we being led by the Holy Spirit or do we follow our desires? Do we really know the Bible and what it teaches? Or is the Bible some furniture in our homes? These are real questions that we should genuinely ask ourselves from the heart.

When others look at you, do they see Jesus? Or do they see more of your flesh? Do they see the fruit of the Spirit which is godliness do they see or your own human tendencies which is carnal and of the world?

Apostle Paul admonished his spiritual son Timothy in 2 Timothy 3:5; to turn away from those that have a form of godliness “Having a form of godliness but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

Beloved, you must fight against hypocrisy, some Christians have allowed themselves fall into hypocritical lifestyle, they have a different look and appearance at church, but at work, it is a different thing and when they get home, they have the home look and appearance, for how long shall we continue to live like this – a double lifestyle? There is great danger with this kind of inconsistency, what happens if Jesus should come in our sinful and compromised state?
Apostle Peter reminded us in 2 Peter 3:10; that the second coming of the Lord will be as a thief in the night. “But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth so and the works that are therein shall be burned up. It will be a horrible day for those who have not given their lives to Christ, the world will witness the greatest horror, it will be a day of great sorrow,

I pray that you and I will not be left behind in Jesus name.

If you have not already done so, make a declaration today and accept Jesus as your personal Lord and Saviour. Commit your life to follow Him. Be sure that the Bible sets your standards, not the opinions of the world. Seek to live in holiness so others see the truth of the Gospel through you and come to the knowledge of Christ. It pays to genuinely serve Jesus, enjoy living as a Christian, don’t endure it, it shall be well with you and all of yours in Jesus name.

Prayer point: Father, help me not to have a form of Godliness; but to be a living example of Godliness in Jesus name.

Prayer point: Father, help me not to have a form of Godliness; but to be a living example of Godliness in Jesus name.

Key Dose: It pays to serve Jesus and to live Holy.
