One of the boosters is fasting, as we see from the book of Matthew. 17:21 Jesus speaking, told his disciples if you desires that your prayer produces result and be able to cast out demons or pray over sickness, “this kind cannot be done except is coupled with fasting. When prayer is combined with faith and fasting it brings every opposition into submission. Fasting is not a way to beg God, neither is it to impress Him or force Him to grant a request. It is a spiritual device that empowers believers with the unction needed to deal with some difficult issues facing him/her. Luke 4:14, after Jesus fasted for forty days, the Bible says “And Jesus returned in the power of the spirit into Galilee: and there went out a fame of him through the region round about.
A fast is meant for building up your spirit-man so that you can obtain the desired results in the physical. When you are in a fast, you are not begging or struggling with the devil to leave: you are connecting with heaven, for the release of power to send the devil packaging from your environment.
Another prayer booster is praying in the spirit. It is another way to reinforce your prayer. The forces against believers are spiritual, so we have to confront them from spiritual reality, as the flesh hasn’t enough force to handle them. That is why Jesus promised us the Holy Spirit, our comforter and Helper to help transcend the physical realm into the heavenly. Personally, I enjoy praying in the spirit, it gives me a sense of boldness and inner vigour and connecting with heaven. There are times that my physical body is weak to pray, so I switch my prayer approach to praying in the spirit and before I know it, the physical body is enhanced for performance. You see until you are able to engage the help of the Holy Spirit in prayer, you may never experience true breakthrough in your Christian life. Romans 8:26-27.
When you pray in the spirit, no one, including the devil, knows what you are saying, you are speaking to God alone with inner groaning in the spirit, it is a mystery. It takes you into heaven’s frequency, enabling you to pray with precision by the express will of God for that situation. 1 Corinthians.2:10-11 “…for the spirit searches all things, yea, the deep things of God. For what man knows the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him, even so the things of God knows no man, but the spirit of God.
May the Lord give you the strength to add fasting to your prayer, so that your prayer can lead to breakthrough in Jesus name.
Prayer point: O LORD, my helper and comforter, please strengthen my inner man to pray and fast until I receive my breakthroughs in Jesus name.
Key Dose: If you want your fast to work miracles, do it in holiness and righteousness.
