THE POWER IN STILLNESS

Memorize : Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.” Psalm 46:10

Devotional Reading: 2 Chronicles 20:1-25

One of the avenues that God uses to manifest His great powers, is in stillness before Him. According to our memorize in Psalm 46:10; which says “Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth”.

February is our month of Divine Manifestation, if you really want to see the great power of God divinely manifest in your life, learn to be still in God’s presence, either in church, at home, at work, on the plane, or anywhere you may be, the presence of God is not limited to one building , location or spot, God’s presence is all over the universe wherever you have chosen to meet with Him.

God want us to be still when we are before Him. He is almighty God, the commander in chief of the supernatural forces that controls the universe, whether in Heaven, on earth or underneath the earth, He reigns supreme in all the earth, He is the Alpha, and Omega, the Beginning and the End. He sent His only begotten son to die for us on the cross of calvary to guarantee our victory in life and secure our freedom from sin and the power of Satan – “the enemy of our soul”. We cannot forget the painful price that Jesus Christ His only begotten son paid on the cross of Calvary, he said on that cross, it is finished, the work of redemption is completed.

Christ has paid the price for us to be free, to be victorious and to be prosperous in every area of our life, Apostle John the beloved confirmed this in 3 John 2:2; “Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth”, all we need to do now is to accept Jesus into our lives as our personal Lord and Saviour and be still before Him. He has solution to every problem we may have, nothing is beyond Him and nothing is impossible for Him, He is God from beginning to the end, there is no place for argument, He is God all by Himself, Hallelujah!

We must create time to have intimate relationship and fellowship with Christ in the place of stillness, He will teach us what to do and how to come out of any difficult situation; you and I are more than conquerors through the blood of Christ shed at Calvary, we are more than victorious in Christ Jesus.

A large number of people don’t have time to pray, many rush out in the morning without praying.. Some spend a few moment reading the Bible or a devotional message or Christian book, others are content going to church once a week, even now that churches are opened, many people are still disengaged from regular physical worship, they have hewed for themselves broken cisterns that can hold no water. Is this really the way we should act towards the Almighty God? Is this all we can offer Him? The Bible says that we should seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness. This means that He should be our highest priority. Seeking God shouldn’t be an afterthought or second option, but a dominant goal pursued with Joy.

We also are commanded to be still before Him. To take time to listen. To reflect on His Word. To seek his face. We cannot be still when we are too busy or if our minds are preoccupied by daily activities and pressures of life. When we stand still, we withdraw from the battle and allow God to take the fore front, then we see the salvation of the Lord. 2 Chronicles 20:17; Exodus 14:13. Many have lost battles they should have won simply because they did not stand still in His Presence, they tried to fight their battle themselves, making God secondary in the matter. Many rush through situations and make important decisions without seeking the face of God. We should wait in the place of stillness before Him.

How can we hear Him if we rush through a brief time of prayer or Bible reading? Being still before Him means eliminating distractions and focusing on God and God alone. It means waiting in His presence and listening to what He is saying. It means reading His Word. And it means time dedicated to prayer and communion with Him. The Bible reminds us that God longs to have an intimate relationship with us. We should walk with God. Do not take God for granted. Make Him your highest priority. Be still before Him. May the Lord help you to be still before Him, especially at this difficult time in our world. Please understand as a believer that the battle is not yours, but God’s. The Lord will give you VICTORY by the power of resurrection in Jesus name.

Happy New Month!

Prayer point: O LORD, please teach me how to be still in your presence in Jesus name.

Key Dose: The battle is not yours, it belongs to God, allow him fight for you.
