THE POWER OF DESIRE

Memorize : Thou openest thine hand and satisfies the desire of every living thing. Psalms 145:16

Devotional Reading: Luke 16:19-21

Desire is something that most people have; it is a part of life, it comes to individuals in different levels according to their needs and dreams. God does not bless a man according to his shouting or crying, he blesses according to your desire in line with His will for you. The level of your desire determines the measure of your blessing. Shouting in prayer or quietness in prayer is not the parameter to blessing, the parameter is your level of desire accompanied by the strength of your faith, I pray that your desires be satisfied by the Lord today in Jesus name.

Your desire does not only limit you, but also limit God from doing what He has in store for you. God cannot bless a man beyond his desires. It takes desire to break limit. Proverbs. 10:24b says “but the desire of the righteous shall be granted. So whatever is granted to you is in proportion of your desire. Jesus was speaking in Mark 11:24 “Therefore I say unto you, what things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them” desires preceed prayer, you pray according to your desire, so, before you pray ensure your desire is in place and ensure that it is in line with the word of God. It’s therefore important that as you journey through the last month of this year 2021, develop a strong desire that will birth higher levels of greatness in your life, work, business, or ministry, express your desire through fervent prayer. The LORD will answer speedily in Jesus name. Please note that wherever your desire can reach, that’s where your blessings will reach.

In Luke 16:19-21 the story of Lazarus and the rich man. For every child of God there’s a prepared table, there’s no reason why you need to fix your eye on someone else’s crumbs when you can have your own table set before you. Lazarus’ continuous desire was to be fed with the crumbs, which fell from the rich man’s table. The truth is that many of us have limited themselves and God’s blessings as a result of our level of desire. The rich man believes in riches that God gave him, Lazarus desired crumbs and he got it. God is not a law breaker, He has the ability to bless but He will not impose His blessings on you. Jesus said; behold, I stand at the door knocking, if anyone will open I will come in and sup with him. God does not break any man’s door, He will knock and wait for you to open according to your desire.

I don’t know what your prayer has always been, but today I challenge you to develop a strong desire of expectation. Go before Him today, search your heart and know what is in it will bless you according to your faith.

I pray that God give you a strong desire to have the fulness of Him, in Jesus name. When you have all of God, you have all of life and more, amen.

Prayer point: O LORD, please replace my fears and worries with courage, faith and boldness in Jesus name.

Key Does: Your only limitation is the desire you possess
