Devotional Reading: 2 Timothy 3:1-17;
Each time the clock tick, you cannot get back the lost time, there is a proverb that is coined from this which says “Opportunity once lost, can never be regained” If anyone misses the rapture, we cannot regain it, this is the reason why it is wise to take advantage of the opportunity today and be ready for rapture.
Each day we live and spend here on earth, we are one step closer to the second coming of our Lord and saviour Jesus Christ, the question is – “Are you Ready?”
Perhaps you are wondering about my question and you are thinking – ‘Ready for what?’. Are you ready for the rapture? The focus of many believers in our world today has shifted away from preparing for rapture. If you read the newspapers, look at your TV, Internet sites and social media today, the things you will find there are far from making anyone think about rapture, the hearts of many people are deep into the things of this world because of the influence of media , many people think because it has been so long since they have been hearing of rapture, and it has not happened, they have concluded that it will not happen again. They have gone cold towards preparing for Heaven like the days on Noah. Many churches now preach prosperity, miracles and motivational talks, sermons that will convict us of our sins and push us to repentance are rare in our churches today. The hearts of many people including believers have shut down towards rapture. For some, the friends and association they keep constantly engage them in vain and worldly engagements which have killed the hunger and expectation they once had about rapture. Regardless of whether you are ready or not, Jesus is coming and his coming is very near.
1 Corinthians 15:51&52; Behold, i shew you a mystery; we shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
Anyone who is not ready when rapture takes place will not have second chance to be ready. If you look carefully all around you today, you will see the signs every where that Jesus is coming very soon.
Revelation 20:15; And whosoever is not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.
Many people are currently busy chasing worldly wealth, worldly fame, worldly status, worldly recognition, worldly positions, many have chased these things at the cost of their soul. The second coming of Jesus has become a secondary subject, some are not sure if the rapture will still take place, others have made it a 50/50 chance, they have turned their expectations to probability- “I think I will make it”. The book of Mark 8:36 asks us the life saving question – For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul.
You still have time today to prepare and be ready! Today is the day of salvation, tomorrow may be too late. Confess your sins and repent from all your wicked ways, ask God for mercy, He will forgive you and write your name in the book of life, the blood of Jesus is still flowing at Calvary.
May God help us to be ready for the second coming of Jesus Christ. You and I will not miss it in Jesus name.
