THE RIGHT TO CHOOSE

Memorize : I call heaven and earth to record this day aganist you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live; Deuteronomy 30:19

Devotional Reading: Deuteronomy 30:1-20

The right to choose was given to everyone by God, this is one thing that God decided he will not withdraw from man. Unfortunately, many people make wrong choices. Because God has given man a freewill, some use it against God by choosing not to serve the true and only living God, some use it to choose death for their unborn babies and the helpless sick, while some use it against themselves by entering into covenants with Satan, thereby choosing both early physical and eternal death for themselves.

The whole essence for God giving us “Freewill” is to encourage us choose Him willingly, thereby choosing life. We live in a world where people who are meant to appreciate this privilege and choose life use their freewill to choose the opposite. I pray that God will help you make right choices with your freewill in Jesus name.

Jochebed, the mother of Moses, was one of the most remarkable mothers in the bible. She gave birth to Moses while living as a Hebrew slave in Egypt.

But while Moses was still a baby, Pharaoh began to fear that the Hebrews might one day outnumber the Egyptians. In order to prevent this he demanded the slaughter of all newborn Hebrew baby boys.

Jochebed had great faith in God, and she went to incredible length to secure the safety of Moses. She built a floating cradle and hid him in the bulrushes where Pharaoh’s daughter could find him and “adopt” this child as her own.

God blessed Jochebed’s efforts and made it possible for her to become Moses nanny and to raise him in the ways of God.

There is a lesson for all in the life of this woman.

Because Jochebed had chosen life for her son, Moses learned what mattered most in life, and said, “Choose life, that you and your offspring may live”

Some people feel discouraged and rejected to the point of contemplating suicide, some have withdrawn themselves into isolation while some have almost given up on life. No, don’t give up! There is hope for you and God will bring you through like He did for Jochebed and Moses.

The devil is a theif, resist him! He’s come to steal from you, but our Lord has come to give you life. John 10:10; The thief cometh not, but to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life and that they might have it more abundantly.

I pray for you today, that regardless of the situations confronting you, God will help you make right decisions and choices in life in Jesus name.

Prayers point : O LORD; please help me to choose life in Jesus name.

Key Dose: Remember, there is hope for the living.
