Memorize: He that dwelleth in the secrete place of the most high, shall abide under the shadow of the almighty; Psalm 91:1
Devotional Reading: Psalm 91:1-16
We are living in perilous times. Everything that man has put his trust in are failing. The truth of the matter is this, there is nothing that you can put your trust in and no one you can turn to but the almighty God.
Prophet Jeremiah rebuking the folly of man for seeking safety outside the secret place of God – in chapter 2:13 declared; For my people have committed two evils; they have forsaken me the fountain of living waters, and hewed them out cisterns, broken cisterns, that can hold no water.
Fear has laid hold of the heart of many people, they are running to and fro looking for answers from any source they can find because of what they are passing through, or as result of the things that is happening in the world.
Mankind’s problems stem from their lack of trust in God, because of unbelief they have trusted that which cannot satisfy their needs, they hide under the shadow of man and have turned away from their heavenly Father who cares deeply for their welfare.
To escape the storms of life, there is only one place that man can find refuge, security and safety, that is under the shadow of the almighty God. To stay under the shadow of the almighty God” is to enter into a place where the enemy cannot find you, it is refered to as “secret” because the enemy cannot locate the place, hence, the enemy cannot touch you once you are there.
It is a guaranteed place of safety and protection. It is like running into the “City of Refuge” according to God’s provision for the children of Israel during the time of Moses.
You shall be delivered in God’s secret place – Psalm 91:4;
You shall not be afraid in God’s secret place – psalm 91:5-8;
No evil shall befall you in God’s secret place – psalm 91:9-10;
He shall give his Angels charge over you in God’s secret place – psalm 91:11-12;
You shall tread upon the lion in God’s secret place – psalm 91:13;
God will set you on high above all your enemies when you dwell in his secret place – psalm 91:14-16;
There is nothing that can touch you when you dwell in the secret place of the almighty, it is a guaranteed place of refuge; security and safety.
Whatever you are passing through in life; there is no one that can help you, but the almighty God. They may promise you heaven and earth, they may make vow or enter into agreement with you, don’t put your trust in them, they will fail you, and break your heart. The world today is full of truce breakers, many even break covenants and vows that they have made, ONLY God will not break his promise and covenant with you, if you do not break yours with him.
I pray for you today that; you will find your way to the secret place of God and abide under his shadow in the mighty name of Jesus.
Prayer: O Lord, help me enter into your secrete place and abide under your shadow in Jesus name.
Key Dose: Remember that the word of God stand sure for ever.
