Devotional Reading: Psalm 28:1-9
Yesterday, I discussed about overcoming your fears and worries, today, I will discuss on where is your confidence. You can only overcome your fears and worries if you put your confidence in God and God alone.
The world we are currently in does not support our faith in God. As a matter of fact, it discourages us from believing the word of God because they do not understand what confidence in God means.
Confidence in God means to fully cast all of ones cares, worries, troubles, sicknesses and challenges to Him, believing that only He can do what concerns you. Men can promise you heaven and earth, especially when they’re in power, some will go to the extent of swearing to win your heart. But remember, the strength of man is limited. No matter how hard they try man will always be man.
Some people put their confidence and trust in the riches of their parents, some in the status of their family, whilst others have strong confidence in their traditions and belief system. All of these and any other earthly material will fail us, the bible says arms of flesh will fail us. Jeremiah:17:5
Regardless of what might assail us in life, as believers we must never shift our confidence from God to man, It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in princes; Psalms 118 9. David must have been disappointed many times and that was why he admonished us to put our confidence in God. He acknowledged that man will fail as far as man is still man, but only God cannot fail, He is the same yesterday, today and forever more. Hebrews:13:8
This month is declared our month of Counting Blessings, believe the word of God that has been spoken and have strong confidence in God who can do all things, and it shall be so for you in Jesus name.
Man may promise and fail you, but God will never fail you. I pray for someone reading this devotional that as you put your confidence in God this month, He will suppernaturally restore all your years of losses and give you an awesome testimony to count your many blessings this month in Jesus name.
Prayer point: O Lord, help my eyes stay on you and my confidence built in your word.
