Devotional Reading: Jeremiah 29: 4-14
God is calling everyone by invitation to go up higher and do more. Matthew 9:37&38; The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few; Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send labourers into his harvest. No more complacency or mediocrity, the time has come for each one of us to rise up and gp higher in our calling, there is room for everyone at the top, we all can do more for God, you are yet at your best.
It is the desire of God that we go higher and be more like Him. God commands change, without a changed life, our service will be like a circling motion, in which no ground is covered and there is not fulfillment. There are so many reasons why we need to step up, in Isaiah. 43:19 the bible says “Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert” this is to tell us that God is doing new things and they are not for weaklings and lazy people, they are for those that know their God. Daniel 11:32b; But the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits. We can always do more for God.
No matter how good our past has been, our future can be better and greater, this is the plan of God for us. We have the capacity to improve and do greater things, it is inside of us, we must desire to do greater works, we can’t afford to be behind when others are ahead doing great exploits for Jesus. Higher calling could mean to increase quality time spent with God in prayer, studying the word, increasing our fervent service to God and more. God is calling us to a higher calling, to do more for him, His desires are that we win the world for Him, save, heal and deliever them. But if we don’t step up, we might find it difficult to do. We need to see ourselves as the instruments that God will use to reach the whole earth.
I like us to know that there are still mysteries yet unfolded and God wants to unveil them through us, but not to those who are not seeking Him. Proverbs.25:2 says “it is the glory of God to conceal a matter, to search out a matter is the glory of kings” we will be failing in our responsibility as Kings if we don’t search out in the secret place the deep things that God has hidden. 1 Corinthians. 2:9 “Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him”. God has a lot in stock for us, great rewards awaits us both here on earth and in eternity, but He needs us to show commitment to His works and be faithful.
Like Paul advised Timothy in 2 Timothy 2:15; Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed,..
I pray for you that God will give you the Spirit of excellence and grace to do more for Him as you make efforts to go higher for God in Jesus name.
Prayer point: O LORD, please help me do more for you and take me higher this season in Jesus name.
