Devotional Reading: Matthew 7:7-27
Wisdom is the principal thing in life according to Proverbs 4:7; No man succeed without it, especially the wisdom from God. Now what is Wisdom? It is simply the right application of relevant knowledge. Matthew 7:25-27 knowledge is not wisdom. Some student readers of this devotional might have this experience in the exam hall where another student kept asking for more sheets and you look at yourself and begin to think ”what is the student writing” at the end of the exam when everyone is checking their results. The student that was asking for more paper is hiding his result, why? he failed not because he didn’t know it, but he couldn’t make relevant application of what he knew, hence, all his answers are irrelevant to the question, even though he produced voluminous answers.
It is one thing to have knowledge and is another thing to know how to apply it correctly. I pray for someone reading this devotional today, the grace to move from knowledge to wisdom is released upon you now in Jesus name. John 6:6 told us about Jesus “he knew how to tackle issues with wisdom. He knew how to apply the knowledge he has, that is wisdom. Knowing what to do, knowing the right way to turn and turning there, knowing what to say and saying it. That is what wisdom is all about.
One of the power of wisdom is that it gives the power and ability to build Proverbs. 24:3 the structure of your career, marriage, business, ministry. There are people with money but lacks wisdom on how to spend it. You see them spending lavishly. When wisdom is in you, little money will multiply into big money. Small company into conglomerate, small ministry into international ministry. Wisdom is everything to anyone that strongly deserve success. Lack of wisdom in a family leads to physical abuse.
A wise man studies his wife and know her right buttons and know how and when to press the relevant one, Absence of wisdom can break a home, it can turn his career, it can tear a government, it can lead to war. But when wisdom is present,everything is under control, and runs seamlessly.
I pray again for someone, the kind of wisdom that will elevate you to greater height, receive now in the mighty name of Jesus.
Prayer point: O LORD my father, help me to be a covenant keeper and honour your word in my life so that my situation will change for the better in Jesus name.
