Devotional Reading: Acts 8:26-40
Every believer is charged with responsibility and command by Jesus to go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature – Mark 16:15, this is our number one vocation and assignment as instructed by Jesus himself.
We live in an age and time when thick darkness covers the earth. We are currently at the tale end of the end time which the bible refers to as “perilous time”. Jesus can come anytime, there is no more time, the kingdom of darkness recognise it, hence they are working extra hard with speed to claim as many souls as they can into hell fire. Every child of God must wake up and stop hell from being populated, How? By showing as many people as possible the way to Jesus Christ the only way, the truth and the life. There is no other way to the father expect through him – John 14:6.
Philip received the instruction of the Lord to leave the revival and success he was witnessing in Samaria and head to the desert! As he obeyed, he ran into an Ethiopian Eunoch, a man of great authority from Ethiopia, who came all the way from Africa on a form of pilgrimage to Jerusalem. As Philip approached the man riding in his chariot, he heard him read from the Book of Isaiah. Prompted by the Spirit of God, Philip ran and go near the chariot, and immediately struck a conversation with the man. “Then Philip opened his mouth, and began at the same Scripture, and preached unto him Jesus.” The man accepted the gospel, believed that Jesus was the Son of God and was baptized, he went home rejoicing. Immediately after, the Spirit of God miraculously transported Philip to another location to continue spreading the gospel, obeying the command “Go Ye”.
Preaching the gospel is our occupation. Jesus commanded us to go to every place. Therefore, we must rise from our comfort zone and head to where the sinners are. Many souls are perishing, some are taking their own lives because they thought there is no more hope for them.
Many streets, universities, villages, etc are dwelling in sin daily, thousands of souls are going into hell fire every day. It is our responsibility to arise, go and show them the way to go and let them know that there is hope for them. Jesus is counting on us to bring the world to His kingdom. We cannot afford to fail if we hope to pull souls away from the path of perdition into the kingdom of light.
Today I challenge you arise and go. Tell the sinner there is hope for them, they don’t need to die in their sin, show the world the way to look unto Jesus and live.
Virtual platforms like facebook, twitter, whatsapp, Instagram, e-mail are available, use them to connect people to God, which ever way you are doing just be sure you are leading people to God and you yourself are as well on the path you are showing people. Apostle Paul said in 1 Corinthians 9:27b; “when i have preached to others, I myself should be a cast away”. After we have preached the word of God to others, we will not be cast away in Jesus name.
May the Lord help you to catch the revelation of this word and arise, go and lead souls to Christ and be good example to those you are leading to Christ.
I pray for you today, that you will be good ambassador of Christ in Jesus name.
Prayer point: Father, please give me the zeal and strenght to go out and preach your word.
